Hello Lucy Rotary Cairns Northern Beaches (Queensland, Australia) and the Rotary Club of Phnom Penh (Cambodia) are raising funds to construct a new school building for Chumkriel Language School in southern Cambodia (near Kampot) through Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS). The budget is $90K USD. The fundraising program is five years. I have written a 22 page funding proposal and have begun to contact potential donors without success. I’m using the PAF Guide ( Australian Private Ancillary Funds & Public Ancillary Funds) and the Grants Hub. Membership of both organisations is provided by the RAWCS CEO, Mahir Momand. In the first round of approaches, my strategy was to send an email asking how to apply for funding without sending the funding proposal. Out of the 11 organisations approached (all of which listed education, international and Cambodia as areas of focus), four responded. Three stated they hadn’t supported anything in Cambodia for a decade/no longer support the country which makes me query how up to date the PAF Guide really is. All were very polite and wished good luck. I want to send a second round but feel somewhat stymied. The initial gentle approach hasn’t worked. I do not know how I should approach potential donors and am seeking your advice and guidance. The following should provide background information on the project: Chumkriel Language School: https://chumkriellanguageschool.org/ Chumkriel Language School (Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/ChumkrielLanguageSchool You Tube: https://youtu.be/tNZopV9D_yk?si=LGcxwxjNop6eAYYF RAWCS: https://rawcs.org.au/ Thanks you for your assistance.
