Hi John, this is a follow on from my previous query about setting up an Incorporated Association for our Rotary Community Group project, specifically Relocated Playgrounds in SA. You were cautious about doing this from insurance matters, but the participants were still interested to pursue it, but are cautious that it would not invalidate Rotary Insurance. We had previously done this with a learner driver program, Wheels in Motion Gawler Inc, by listing that it was a project of the Rotary Club of Gawler Light. In this case it would be the same, but with the clubs in our community group as members of the association. I have a draft document which I can send to you, but below is the key area pertaining to the association, Thanks, M-l
5.1 MEMBERS
5.1.1 The Relocated Playgrounds SA Incorporated is a project sponsored by The Rotary Club of Gawler Light Incorporated, however all the clubs within Rotary Community Group 7 (presently consisting of the following clubs – Barossa Valley, Gawler, Gawler Light, Onkaparinga, Tailem Bend, Mobilong, Murray Bridge, Stirling, Mt Barker, Blakiston Nairne) are members of the association.
5.1.2 Should one of the Rotary Clubs (as listed above) cease to exist, the members shall be all the remaining Rotary Clubs in Group 7 (being incorporated bodies). Similarly, new Rotary clubs joining Rotary Community Group 7 automatically become members of the association.
5.1.3 Should Rotary Community Group 7 cease to exist, or be replaced by a similar group, the membership of the association will remain as it was prior to the cessation of the Rotary Community Group 7.
